New-Delivery Swap, Broken Replacement, or Estate Clear-Out
New-Delivery Swap
The most common call. A new fridge, washer-dryer set, stove, or window AC is arriving on a specific date, and the delivery crew won’t haul the old one — it has to be gone before the installers arrive. Polk Services runs delivery-day removal: text pictures of the old appliance, get a quote back, and schedule for the morning of delivery.
Broken Replacement
The fridge stopped cooling, the washer won’t spin, the dryer stopped heating, the window AC gave out. Broken appliances go through the same EPA-compliant workflow as working ones — freon still has to come out, even on a dead compressor. Polk Services handles the pickup on your timeline, usually same-day or next-day.
Estate & Turnover Clear-Out
Estate cleanouts, downsizing moves, rental turnovers, and pre-listing cleanups often surface multiple appliances that need to be hauled. Polk Services handles multi-appliance pickups with bundle pricing that drops the per-appliance cost.

Text photos to (863) 344-5806
Text is the fastest path to an appliance pickup quote — send pictures of the appliance, a close-up of the make/model plate (helps identify freon content), and access shots. For delivery-day coordination, include the new appliance delivery date so scheduling matches.
Free estimate — photo quote or walk-through
Photo quotes are almost always accurate for standard single-appliance and small multi-appliance pickups. On-site walk-throughs help with whole-kitchen appliance-suite clear-outs and specialty heavy items. Free either way.
Verbal + texted written quote — freon fee disclosed
Every pickup is priced twice. Freon appliances have a small facility freon-disposal fee quoted as a line item on the written quote, so you see exactly what the disposal costs. No invoice surprise.
Scheduling — matched to delivery windows
For customers coordinating a new appliance delivery, pickup is scheduled to match the delivery window — usually the morning of delivery day. Standard replacement pickups run within 24 to 72 hours of the accepted quote.
Utility disconnect coordination if needed
Standard freon appliances have a simple electric-plug disconnect. Gas dryers and ranges have a gas line to disconnect — Polk Services handles a simple shut-off valve on standard residential lines, while larger or older installations may need a customer-arranged plumber or the gas company first. Flagged at the walk-through.
Pickup, EPA routing & broom-clean
The appliance loads into the trailer, freon appliances route to the EPA-compliant facility, non-freon appliances to the standard facility, and the pickup area gets broom-cleaned before drive-off — your kitchen, garage, or laundry room left clean.
Pricing, the Freon Fee & Bundles
Minimums & Pricing Tiers
$150 minimum for a single standard appliance pickup — one washer, dryer, stove, dishwasher, or window AC. Freon appliances (fridge, freezer, larger AC) have a small facility freon-disposal fee added as a line item. Heavy specialty items are priced above the minimum, and multi-appliance bundle pricing drops the per-item cost on kitchen-suite or estate pickups.
The Freon Facility Fee
Refrigerators, freezers, and window AC units contain refrigerant that must be recovered by an EPA Section 608-certified technician before legal disposal. Polk County facilities charge a small per-appliance fee for this, which Polk Services quotes upfront as a separate line item — not an upcharge, just a transparent regulatory cost.
Bundle Pricing
Combining appliance removal with furniture removal, household junk removal, an estate cleanout, or a garage cleanout brings the total below what separate pickups would charge. Ask on the estimate call.
Donation Routing
Working appliances in good condition can go to Habitat for Humanity ReStore instead of the landfill. Polk Services flags donation-eligible working appliances during the walk-through and coordinates delivery if you want — reducing landfill volume and sometimes your cost.
Payment Terms
Cash, check, credit/debit, Venmo, Zelle, and Cash App (3.7% fee on card/electronic; cash and check free). Standard pickups run payment on completion.

Seven Details That Separate a Polk Services Appliance Pickup
EPA Section 608 Recovery — the Law
40 CFR Part 82 requires refrigerant recovery from freon appliances by a Section 608-certified technician before disposal — working or broken — and county facilities enforce it. Freon appliances go through a per-appliance fee covering recovery; skipping it is a federal violation.
Identifying Freon Content
Not every appliance has freon, but not every one without a visible compressor is freon-free — older window ACs, wine fridges, some dehumidifiers, and commercial equipment can contain refrigerant. Polk Services identifies it at the photo quote so routing is flagged upfront.
Delivery-Day Timing — When 30 Minutes Matter
Delivery windows run 3–4 hours; crews won’t haul the old unit or install if the space isn’t clear. Polk Services completes delivery-day pickup 30 minutes to 2 hours before the delivery window opens.
Utility Disconnect Handling
Simple shut-off valves (gas, washer/dishwasher water) are handled on the spot. Larger commercial installs, unusual configurations, or gas lines without a shut-off valve need customer-arranged plumber or gas-company coordination — flagged at the walk-through.
Heavy-Appliance Access Geometry
Appliances must clear the exit path — a standard fridge is 36 inches, and 36-inch doors are the minimum. Older homes sometimes have narrower doorways. Polk Services checks access photos before the truck arrives.
Salt & Coastal Corrosion
Garage & Outdoor Unit Corrosion — Garage freezers, window ACs, and patio fridges rust faster in Central Florida's year-round humidity. Corroded cabinets and seized hinges get extra care on the way out, so rust flakes and sharp edges don't damage your floors.
Multi-Appliance Sequencing
Freon appliances load first for their specific facility routing, standard appliances second for standard routing. Right sequence keeps disposal efficient with no double-trip to different facilities.
