Why Lakeland Chooses Polk Services

Six Reasons People Book Polk Services Instead of the National Chains

The three big junk-removal chains all use the same playbook: phone tree, rotating crews, and a quote that changes when the truck arrives. Polk Services runs the opposite way: one owner, one operator, one machine, one number to call.

01

Locally Owned & Operated

A Florida LLC based in South Lakeland. Donny was born and raised here: Lakeland High and George Jenkins High. No corporate call center in another state.

02

Licensed & Insured

Registered Florida LLC (Sunbiz L23000504596). Fully insured. Certificate of insurance available on request for HOA, commercial, and property-management customers.

03

Google 5.0 Rated

The live Google rating and count update automatically, so what you see is what today’s customers are saying: no hand-picking, no static snapshot.

04

20+ Years in the Trades

Donny has been in some form of construction his entire adult life. Nineteen years actively operating heavy equipment on a Class A CDL, self-taught, then earned through the work.

05

Kubota SCL1000 Mini Skid Steer

36-inch gate access, 1,000-plus lb lift capacity, 4 psi ground pressure. Tiny but mighty. It fits where a full-size machine cannot, and it does not tear up your yard.

06

No Hidden Fees, No Surprise Charges

Every quote is verbal on-site plus texted in writing. The price you approve is the price you pay. Full stop.

Meet Donny Gozzola, Owner, Operator, Every Job

Donny grew up in South Lakeland: Lakeland High, then George Jenkins High. He has been in some form of construction his entire adult life, and he has held an active Class A CDL for 19 years, since he was 21. Before Polk Services he ran hauling for Fortune 500 companies and built eight of his own businesses over the years.

Polk Services LLC opened in 2023 with a crushed-asphalt driveway install in South Lakeland. Today the fleet handles anything from a single couch or mattress pickup to a full pool demolition, and Donny still meets every customer, walks every property, quotes every job, and runs the equipment on every job. That has not changed, and it will not change.

What Happens When You Call

What Actually Happens When You Book Polk Services

People fire a contractor over surprise pricing, no-shows, or a sloppy walk-off. Here is exactly how Polk Services runs every job, the same standard, no exceptions.

01

You reach a real person the same day

Call or text (863) 344-5806, or fill out the form. Donny answers directly, 7 AM to 7 PM. No call center, no dispatcher, no ticket queue.

02

On-site estimate, or a fast photo quote

Donny walks the property with you, usually 30 to 60 minutes. For heavy material or debris, text pictures instead. Either way it is free.

03

Verbal quote plus a written quote texted

Every job is quoted twice, so nothing gets misremembered and everyone has the numbers before work starts. No add-ons at the truck.

04

Text 30 minutes before we arrive

You get a text 30 minutes before the truck rolls up. No four-hour windows, no watching the driveway all morning.

05

Walk the property together before we leave

The last five minutes is a final walk-through. We rake-clean the site and fix anything off before we drive away.

7 Questions to Ask Any Cleanup or Demolition Contractor

These apply whether you hire Polk Services or someone else. Cheap operators fail the same seven every time. Ask them anyway.

1

Are you a Florida-registered LLC with a Sunbiz number?

Polk Services is L23000504596, verifiable on Sunbiz.org in 10 seconds. No state record means no legal accountability.

2

Can you show a certificate of insurance?

Legitimate contractors carry general liability insurance and produce a COI on request. Insured vs uninsured is the difference between a phone call and a lawsuit.

3

Will the person quoting the job also do the work?

The biggest question separating owner-operated crews from national chains. With Polk Services, Donny quotes it and runs the equipment himself.

4

Do you provide a written estimate?

Verbal-only quotes are how surprise charges happen. Any contractor worth hiring puts the price in writing before the work starts.

5

What is the policy if I decline the quote?

Some operators charge a show-up or diagnostic fee. Polk Services does not. Estimates are always free.

6

What happens if something on the property gets damaged?

The Kubota’s 4 psi ground pressure is far less likely to rut a lawn or crack pavers than a full-size machine, and Polk Services is fully insured.

7

What actually gets included in the final price?

Polk Services quotes an all-in price: labor, hauling, and disposal. No weight fees that only appear at the truck.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a basic junk-removal or cleanup job cost?
The minimum for most junk and cleanup categories is $300 for the first 4 cubic yards. Heavy material (dirt, concrete, construction debris) starts at $500. Single-item pickups may qualify for a $150 minimum. Every price is quoted verbally on-site and confirmed by text before any work starts.
Do you go inside the house, or only the exterior?
Both. For garage cleanouts, household junk, estate cleanouts, and single-item pickups, Polk Services works inside the home: furniture, appliances, mattresses, or carpet, whatever needs to come out.
How fast can you get to my property?
Same-day or next-day estimates are common within the 20-mile radius. Call or text (863) 344-5806 and Donny will tell you the actual availability window on the spot.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Polk Services LLC is a Florida-registered LLC (Sunbiz L23000504596) and carries general liability insurance. A certificate of insurance is available on request for HOA, commercial, and property-management customers.
Where do you work, and is my address in your service area?
Polk Services covers a 20-mile radius from ZIP 33803 (downtown Lakeland): Lakeland, Plant City, Winter Haven, Bartow, Lithia, and the smaller Polk County towns in between. Outside the radius, Polk Services isn’t the right fit.
What payment methods do you take?
Cash, checks, credit and debit cards, and electronic payments (Venmo, Zelle, Cash App). Cash and check are fee-free; credit, debit, and electronic payments carry a 3.7% processing fee.
Do you require a deposit?
Depends on the job. Most standard jobs run with no deposit. Larger jobs may require 20 to 50 percent down before work starts. Donny will tell you exactly what applies during the estimate.
Do you work with real estate agents and property managers?
Yes. This is a regular channel. Pre-listing cleanups, foreclosure and REO turnovers, and occupied-property cleanouts are all in scope, with volume pricing quoted case-by-case.
Do you work after hurricanes?
Yes. Polk Services handled residential and commercial cleanup across Polk County after Hurricane Milton: storm debris, downed trees, fence damage, and general hauling. There is no surge pricing; the same rate card applies.
What if my property is behind a 36-inch gate?
This is where the Kubota SCL1000 earns its keep: it fits through a 36-inch gate and still lifts more than 1,000 pounds. If your gate is narrower, call and describe the access and Donny will tell you.
Is there a satisfaction guarantee?
The end of every job is a walk-through with you on-site. If something is not right, Polk Services handles it before the truck leaves, not after you call back. And every quote is in writing before work starts.
Do you offer financing?
No third-party financing partner at this time. For larger jobs, Polk Services can structure a 20 to 50 percent deposit with the balance due on completion.
