The Three Yard Waste Situations We Clear Every Week
Green waste calls come down to one thing. There is more vegetation on the ground than the customer can move or the county will take. These are the patterns we see week to week.
The pile is too big for curbside pickup
Polk County limits how much yard waste it will collect and how long the branches can be. After a big trim, a tree drop, or a bed tear-out, the pile blows past those limits. Polk Services hauls the whole thing at once so it is gone that day instead of sitting at the curb for weeks.
Storm-downed branches and fronds after a blow
Central Florida storms drop fronds, limbs, and whole tree tops across a yard fast. After Hurricane Milton in 2024, Donny cleared vegetative debris across Polk County. When the next storm hits, the equipment and the trailer are ready to haul it off.
A landscaper or homeowner needs the debris gone
Sometimes the cutting is already done and what is left is a mountain of green waste with no way to move it. Polk Services shows up, loads it with the grapple, and hauls it off so the finished yard is actually finished.
The Green Waste Polk Services Loads and Removes
If it grew in the yard and it needs to leave, it is in scope. Common loads include:
Vegetation and trimmings
- Palm fronds, palm boots, and cut palm trunks
- Hedge, shrub, and bush trimmings
- Grass clippings and leaf piles
- Bagged yard waste and loose green waste
Woody debris
- Cut tree branches and limbs
- Brush piles and cleared underbrush
- Pulled shrubs, hedges, and small bushes, roots and all
- Storm-downed limbs and tree tops
Related material we can take on the same trip
- Old mulch and bed material being replaced
- Vines, ornamental grasses, and dead plantings
- Small stumps already ground or pulled
Our Green Waste Hauling Process
The point is simple. Get the debris off your property fast, without you lifting a frond.
Call or text photos
Reach Donny at (863) 344-5806. A photo of the pile and a wide shot of the yard is usually enough to quote it.
Free estimate, photo, or on-site
Most green waste jobs quote straight from pictures. For large or mixed piles, Donny walks it on site.
Verbal quote plus a written one by text
You get the number on the spot and confirmed in writing before any loading starts.
Grapple-load and compact
The skid steer grapple loads and compacts the debris into the dump trailer, fitting far more per trip than hand-loading ever could.
Haul off and rake-clean
The load goes to the proper facility. Before we drive off, the work area gets raked clean so the yard looks handled, not half-done.
Pricing for Yard Waste and Green Debris Removal
Green waste is priced by volume, the same simple way Polk Services prices all its hauling. You get one all-inclusive number before work starts.
Standard minimums
- $300 minimum for the first 4 cubic yards of yard waste or green debris.
- Larger piles are quoted by volume, with the projected number of loads spelled out in writing.
- Cutting or pulling before the haul, when needed, is included in the on-site quote.
What affects the price
- Total volume of debris and how many trailer loads it takes
- Whether the vegetation still needs cutting, pulling, or piling first
- Access to the pile and how far it sits from where the trailer can park
- Heavy, water-logged, or dirt-packed root balls that add weight
Payment
Cash, check, credit and debit card, Venmo, Zelle, and CashApp are all accepted. A 3.7% processing fee applies to card and electronic payments. Cash and check have no fee. Free estimates on every job.
Why Homeowners Call Polk Services Instead of Renting a Trailer
Equipment loads what a crew cannot
Landscaping outfits usually load brush and limbs by hand, one armful at a time. Polk Services loads with a grapple and compacts every load, which means fewer trips, less time, and a lower bill on large piles.
Donny is on every job
You are not handed off to a rotating crew. Donny meets you, quotes the job, and runs the loading himself, so the person who gave you the price is the person doing the work.
One trip, fully cleared
Because the trailer carries a compacted load, most yards clear in a single visit instead of a string of curbside pickups. The debris is gone the day the work is done.
No travel fee inside the service area
Polk Services works a 20-mile radius from Lakeland and does not add a travel fee anywhere inside it, from Plant City to Winter Haven to Lithia.
What Yard Waste Looks Like in Lakeland and Across Polk County
Green waste here is not like green waste up north. The climate, the palms, and the storm season all change the volume and the handling.
Everything grows back fast
Central Florida's heat and summer rain push growth almost year-round. A hedge or a bed that was trimmed in spring is overgrown again by late summer, which is why so many Polk County yards need a real haul-off, not a curbside bin.
Palm fronds are heavy and awkward
Fronds, boots, and trunk sections are dense and do not stack like branch wood. They fill a curbside pile fast and are hard to move by hand, which is exactly where machine loading pays off.
Storm season drives the volume
Hurricane Milton in 2024 buried Polk County yards in vegetative debris. Storm and tropical-season blows are a yearly reality here, and the piles they leave are far past what curbside collection is built for.
